Nilson®
Four Slide Machines |
| Nilson'
Four Slides are designed for automatic production of parts from
round wire up to 3/8" in diameter and flat stock to 2-1/2"
in width. Individual, cam-actuated forming slides allow complex
forming operations to be completed with relative ease. Four Slides
can also be arranged for welding, chamfering, tapping, coining,
heading and assembly applications, eliminating secondary operations.
Four Slides provide added economy by eliminating a carrier strip,
utilizing material that is the exact width of the finished part.
Feed Mechanism:
The standard cam-actuated, positive grip feed mechanisms are extremely
accurate and reliable. Repeatability is insured by solid-mounted,
adjustable feed stops and independent stock check units. Feed lengths
of up to 32" are available, and both 90° and 180° feed
cycles are possible on most models.
Press Capabilities:
Nilson Four Slide presses operate like conventional, eccentric-driven
punch presses. Available in capacities to 75 tons, these self-contained
units are mounted into the cast iron machine bed and permit use
of commercial die sets where applicable. Sufficient bed space is
available on some models to mount an additional press head.
Forming Area:
Nilson Four Slide forming areas are open and accessible. The individual,
cam-operated forming slides result in an economical system to replace
intricate camming necessary on other machines that utilize progressive
die tooling. To reduce machine down time, the press section for
blanking is independent from the forming tools. When making an adjustment
to one section, the other need not be disturbed. Finished parts
are ejected from the forming area using a positive stripper motion.

700
Series Forming Machines |
| The
Nilson 700 Series Four Slide machines are designed for automatic
production of parts from round wire up to 1/8" diameter and
flat stock to 1-1/2" wide. Press capacities range from 1/3
ton to 25 tons. Ample bed space is available to add additional press
heads for complex die requirements prior to forming. These camactuated
presses are laterally adjustable to allow optimum positioning relative
to the forming area. The press section is independent from the forming
area, so when making an adjustment to one section, the other need
not be disturbed.
The rigid cast iron machine beds are designed for high-speed production
and are machined on CNC equipment to insure interchangeability of
subassemblies and attachments.
The standard cam-actuated, positive grip feed mechanisms are extremely
accurate and reliable. Repeatability is insured by solid-mounted,
adjustable feed stops and independent stock check units. Feed lengths
of up to 8" are available, and both 90° and 180° feed
cycles are possible on most models.
A wide range of standard accessories are available to increase the
versatility of the 700 Series Four Slides. Split forming slides,
form lifter, heavy duty press, minimum pitch feed, rear cutoff,
and a rear auxiliary slide are some of the attachments available
to enhance the production capabilities.
