Manual Mandrel Benders
MODEL 412: Compact Bending Machine

Model 412 is a lightweight, ( 14 Lbs. ), portable tube bender. It has a cast aluminum frame with ball and thrust bearings. With a 60:1 worm gear ration, the bender produces bends up to 180 degrees in a continuous smooth operation, ( capacity 3/4" OD ).

The Model 412 will accurately bend to exact tolerances repeatedly, with no wrinkling, and flattening less than 5%. The bender will produce full cross-sectional bends up to 180 degrees with the angle of each indicated by the graduated degrees on the radius block. Annealed tube must be used.

The Model 412 bender requires slide blocks and radius blocks.
For most close bends and thin wall tubing, a mandrel may be required.

MODEL 420: Large Capacity Portable Bending Machines

Model 420 is a compact vise crank tube bender, similar in design to the model 412. It has an output torque of 2,900 in-lbs. developed through a 60:1 worm gear ratio. This enables the bender to bend heavier wall tubing and has the capacity of up to 1-1/4" OD tubing, ( 3/4" pipe ).

The Model 420 will accurately bend to exact tolerances repeatedly, with no wrinkling, and flattening less than 5%. The bender will produce full cross-sectional bends up to 180 degrees with the angle of each indicated by the graduated degrees on the radius block. Annealed tube must be used.

The Model 420 bender requires slide blocks and radius blocks.
For most close bends and thin wall tubing, a mandrel may be required.

MODEL 624: Economical Heavy Duty Bender

Model 624 is a medium production bender. This bender can be used either on quantity production or general utility bending.

Easy manual operation is provided through a 4:1 gear ration that will produce smooth bends with full cross-sections that will not cause restrictive flow. Annealed tubing may be fabricated to specification and duplicated with precision.

The advantage of the Model 624 is the minimum time required to position material for bending and the flexibility during changeover. This model can produce a variety of bends, ( capacity 1-1/2" OD ):

• Offset
• U-bends
• Bends in middle of tubing
• Left and right bends

Easy shifting of slide block arm provides quick change over for left or right hand bending.

MODEL HB 632: Compact Hydraulic Production Bender

Model HB 632 is a very rugged and compact hydraulically operated production bender.

This bender uses the rotary draw bending method to produce a smooth bend in one continuous motion. Annealed tube must be used, ( capacity 2" OD ).

The radius blocks, around which the tube is bent, are rotated by a roller chain and socket. This is driven by a spring return hydraulic cylinder. With operating pressures up to 10,000 p.s.i. the unit can produce an output torque of 13,100 in-lbs., ( safety factor 4:1 ).

MODEL 648: Heavy-Duty Manual Production Bender

Model 648 large production bender, is a reversible manual bender that offers a great deal of flexibility in usage, ( capacity 3" OD ).
This model can be portable.

The rotary motion of the radius block and clamp arm is driven by two ratchet-type handles.

• For heavy fabrication the handle is positioned on the left or right side of bender for a 30:1 ration
• For lighter fabrication the handle is positioned in the center position for an 8:1 ratio
• Both handles have a button to release tension on the bender after the bend is completed.

For ease of operation both the slide block and clamp arms use positioning screws with half-turn nuts. This permits the slide block and clamp face to have free movement. This reduces set-up time and offers quick interchangeability.

The Model 648 is completely reversible for either clockwise or counterclockwise bending and is furnished with two handles plus the slide block and clamp block arms.
