All Lixie Dead Blow striking tool head castings feature an unobstructed cavity, partially filled with iron shot.

  • As the hammer is struck on a surface, the urethane face absorbs a portion of the blow's energy.
  • The shot moves forward immediately behind the blow, dampening the rebound and insuring that the force of the blow is transmitted solidly to the struck surface.
  • Lixie Dead Blow Hand Hammers and Mallets are available in 6 sizes with a selection of two weights in each size.
  • The rugged head casting is of either malleable iron, ( Heavy Dead Blow ), or hi-tensile, non-sparking Aluminum, ( Light Dead Blow ).
  • Faces are held in the hammer head by steel inserts; the hickory handle is joined to the head casting by Lixie patented wedge and epoxy bond.
  • The unique Lixie safety grooved handle allows the user to grip the hammer comfortably but firmly, regardless of oil or perspiration.

Lixie Solid Bronze Hammers and Sledges

NOTE: All Lixie Solid Bronze Hammers and Sledges are cast of a durable silicon bronze to give a good amount of yield to the striking face.

They afford a solid positive blow to the work without damaging it, and yet the hammer itself will retain its configuration far longer than lead or brass. All are sparkproof. Each features Lixie's patented epoxy wedge construction for joining the head to the Grade A hickory handle.

Pin-Head Bronze Hammers with a machinist face on one end of the head and a needle nose on the other, are invaluable for the small, fussy tapping and adjusting work involved in precision and bench work.

The head design allows excellent accessibility to limited working areas. Available in 2 sizes:

Dual-Purpose Bronze Hammers fill the need for a finely balanced combination soft faced hammer for adjusting and setting tools on screw machines, lathes, turning centers, machining centers, especially CNC, and most other types of machinery.

  •  As its name implies, it is excellent also for inspection, toolmaking and assembly applications.
  •  It has a machinist's face on one end and a tapered extended nose on the opposite end for handily reaching into difficult areas.

Square Nose Bronze Hammers are for general usage throughout industries such as maintenance, machine operations, sheet metal forming, auto body work, welding, and assembly applications.

  •  They feature a double ended head with a square face cross section.
  •  Manufactured in 3 sizes they also offer the safety of grooved hickory handles.

 

Square Nose Bronze Sledges are suitable for diverse purposes in maintenance, manufacturing and construction as they deliver a heavy, but cushioned blow.

Hammers and Mallets with Fiberglass Safety Grip Handles

  • Some of the more popular sizes and styles of LIXIE hammers and mallets being manufactured incorporate LIXIE's patented comfortable and safe design of the best yet safety grip handle.
  • Deep finger grooves and fine side checkering fit the user's hand comfortably to provide a most positive grip, even in environments where hands or gloves become slippery.
  • The COMFORGRIP handle is molded of yielding urethane to reduce transmission of shock from the struck hammer to the user's hand.
  • The urethane shape is molded over virtually indestructible fiberglass rod, consisting of thousands of continuous glass filaments embedded in epoxy.
  • This fiberglass rod is permanently attached to the hammer head by an epoxy bond between the glass / epoxy rod and a close fitting receiving cavity in the head casting, forming an unbreakable joint. The entire hammer becomes sparkproof.
  • The hammers and mallets are very similar in design, function, operation, and purpose to hickory handle models.

REPLACEABLE URETHANE SCREW-IN FACES

Lixie screw-type replaceable polyurethane faces are included on all Lixie Dead Blow and UniHammer:

  • They are available in six sizes, with a range of four hardnesses in each size.
  • This permits custom fitting a Lixie hammer to your individual requirements.
  • Impervious to oils and most solvents, these solid polyurethane faces have high impact absorption, yet will not mar, peen or deform the struck surface.
  • Their wear and performance characteristics are significantly superior to other commonly used materials such as lead, rawhide, rubber etc.
  • Each of the four hardnesses are color-coded, for convenience.
  • These Lixie faces conform dimensionally to Federal Spec. GGG-H-33a, and their performance characteristics exceed the minimum requirements.
  • The face screws are molded and held in the urethane by a special vane type head, an integral part of the screw.
